Nick Academy is an award-winning EdTech platform that turns screen time into playful STEM learning for kids aged 6–12. Created in collaboration with Nickelodeon, the platform blends entertainment and education through interactive experiences.

I worked on the project as Lead visual developer, and was involved in the game design and user engagement strategy.
Nick Academy

The story
Working with existing IPS
We needed to create a framing story that explains the existence of the Nick Academy world, so we decided to start with an opening cinematic that introduces the narrative universe of Nick Academy.

The Hallway
The central hub
The Hallway is where kids access all games and experiences. It embodies the heart of the brand: Nick Academy isn’t really an educational game, but a chaotic and curious experience. Education can feel imposed, curiosity is an instinctive urge for kids. The chaotic part of the Hallway reflects the wild spirit of Nickelodeon—yucky slime, unexpected storylines, and wild characters.

Adventures
The loud house escape rooms
The Adventures are peak moments in gameplay—escape room-style challenges set in The Loud House universe. Each adventure presents a problem inspired by the show, solved through point-and-click puzzles that let kids apply what they've learned in a fun, story-driven way.
I was responsible for the game design and illustrated the entire experience in the visual style of The Loud House.

Avatar maker

representing the players
The avatar maker was redesigned to support a wide range of ethnic identities, reflect contemporary kids’ fashion, and empower self-expression.
The goal was to create a diverse collection of clothing and accessories that would support strong retention by encouraging kids to return, customize, and play.

The playground
The daily retention mechanic
The Playground is a retention-focused area filled with short, rewarding games that encourage kids to return to NickAcademy daily. Designed as a digital play space, it inspires to capture the feeling of real-world playgrounds—inviting free exploration, spontaneity, and moments of unstructured fun.
